We are excited to share with you our latest initiatives that reflect our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of people with disabilities and their families.

Residential Facilities for Independent Living

As SaaD grew and our students with disabilities transitioned into adolescence, we recognized the importance of planning for their future. In response, we organised brainstorming sessions and developed the concept of residential facilities. Our goal was to create a supportive and empowering living environment where students could live independently while being in close proximity to their parents. This unique residential setup, located in Solapur, Maharashtra, allows students and parents to experience a sense of togetherness while respecting their individual needs and aspirations.

Empowering Parents: Supporting Foundation Setup

At SaaD, we believe in empowering parents to take charge of their child’s future. We have supported and encouraged parents who expressed a desire to establish their own foundations. By providing them with guidance and ideas, we have witnessed the birth of successful independent foundations. One such inspiring example is a foundation set up by a mother, with SaaD’s assistance, to cater specifically to the needs of people with disabilities. We are proud to have played a role in fostering the growth of these impactful initiatives.

Establishing a Dedicated Center

SaaD is actively involved in the establishment of a specialized centre and institute in Purandar Taluka, near Pune. This centre will serve as a hub for parents and children in the vicinity, providing comprehensive services and support. With its completion and occupancy expected in the coming months, we are eager to witness the positive impact it will have on the lives of people with disabilities and their families.

The realization of these projects has been a journey spanning over a decade. Sunita Lele, a trustee of SaaD, has been instrumental in the ideation and development process. Her consultations and collaborations with reputable builders in Pune, starting from 2006-2007, have contributed to the successful implementation of these visionary projects.
The residential area near Pune, accommodating 125 families with people with disabilities, stands as a testament to the dedication and perseverance of the SaaD team.
We are proud to expand our services beyond education and therapy, as we now venture into creating residential spaces that cater to the unique needs of people with disabilities and their parents.
Stay connected for more updates on our new projects as we continue to strive for a brighter future for people with disabilities.
